In conjunction with rescuing hamsters, we also have a hamster train!
This is a system where if someone lives across the country and is unable to collect a hamster they’ve adopted from their foster home, our hamster train is able to transport the hamster to their forever home.
We have a number of drivers who are able to transport hamsters a certain distance, as well as halfway hamster homes (in case an overnight stay is ever needed).
So if you live 3 hours from a hamster you’re interested in, don’t let the distance be an obstacle - we have a way around it!

🐹🐹 Matter of Fact Monday 🐹🐹

This week we are talking about Hamster Care on a Budget. Before getting a hamster, it’s important to note that they may require more costs than you initially realise. Hamsters (or any pet) are a privilege, and not a right. If you cannot afford a hamster then do not get one. Or if you’re struggling to keep the hamster you currently have, adding another is probably not a good idea. As a pet owner, you owe it to your pet to give them a proper life and it is your responsibility to ensure they get all the care they need.

While there are certain aspects that will require a lot of money, there are also ways where you can cut corners to save money. Below is a list of the things that require a lot of money and how you may be able to save a few euro where appropriate.

These are just some ways to save money when caring for your hamster. Resale sites can be excellent sources of cheap hamster products and it also helps the environment to reuse items that somebody else no longer wants. So you’re saving the planet and saving your money!

Ok so I’ve never really posted Violets cage.
Violet is a pup from the first litter of what we call the “Ham Fam Rescue” and I just had to keep her.
That was last November and I’ve never been happy with her cage.
Well, tonight’s the night!
Violet is in the IKEA detolf, with a @sophiescustomcages (me) Round Lid.
She’s my baby - the only dwarf I have left (of my own 😂) and such a little character, my little popcorn chicken.... 😏

To finish off our week long celebration, we’ve filmed a small video of how to make 4 different boredom breakers (separate post - after this one)
These are excellent to keep your hamster busy and not only encourages foraging but actually stimulates their mind too!
Hamsters are clever little animals (that’s why they escape so easy) so hiding their food or making it a little more difficult for them to reach is awesome for their mental health 🥰🐹
